Introduction:

Professor J. Michael Crant holds appointments as a Professor of Management and Organization at the University of Notre Dame in the US and as a Distinguished Research Scholar at Lingnan University’s Department of Management. Mike conducts research on workplace dynamics, focusing primarily on proactive personality and behavior at work. He is one of the creators of the proactive personality scale, the most frequently used measure of proactivity in the organizational literature. His research on proactive personality and behavior is highly cited. His recent work has studied the frequency and impact of proactivity in Asian cultures, including exploring how proactivity helped Chinese hospitals deal with the early days of the COVID-19 crisis.He has published extensively in the field's best journals, and served on the editorial review boards of several leading journals.
